Metro Announced as Official Print Sponsor


As the shortlist for the Sony World Photography Awards 2014 is revealed by the World Photography Organisation, Metro is thrilled to announce that we are the official print sponsor for this year’s awards and are very excited to be supporting what is one of the world’s leading photography competitions. Metro's innovative and unique production skills will be utilised to print and finish all the winning and shortlisted images which have been selected from almost 140,000 submissions for the exhibition, which will run at Somerset House, London from 1st -18th May 2014.

The Sony World Photography Awards attract photographers of all levels and from all walks of life and this year saw almost 140, 0000 submissions from 166 countries. Winning and shortlisted images were selected by a panel of industry experts and include a diverse range of topics and subject matter including humorous portraits of wet dogs at a grooming salon; glamorous behind-the-scenes pictures at a Brazilian drag queen pageant; stunning aerial images of Israel’s landscape and an intimate look at lions in their natural habitat.

Watch this space for announcements as winners of the Open and Youth categories will be revealed on 18th March and Professional category winners and the coveted L’Iris D’Or/Sony World Photography Awards Photographer of the Year title will be announced at a gala ceremony in London on 30th April.
