Metroprint sponsor and donate prizes to the Fujifilm Student Awards 2013

Metroprint are once again delighted to be associated with the highly acclaimed Fujifilm Student Awards 2013, we are not only the print partners for the awards but we are also donating prizes.

The overall winning photographer will win: £200 worth of Fujifilm film, a professionally produced portfolio of prints by us at Metroprint and a one-to-one printing/consultancy session with one of our expert printers. The winning image will then feature in an exhibition to be held in London in the summer of 2013. Along with this main prize there will be a monthly ‘Curator’s Choice’ award which will be chosen from each month's submission of entries and will be presented with a free 12” x 16” print oftheir winning image, as well as 10rolls of Fujifilm film.  Additionally the College or university that submits the most entries will win £200 worth of Fujifilm Professional film and a Certificate.

This year’s theme is 'The Colour Of...' giving entrants a wealth of opportunity to use their creative skills to produce images illustrating how colour lights up their world.  As the title of the awards suggests the emphasis is on shooting on film and the benefits of doing so. Shooting on film encourages a 'quality not quantity' mind set; achieving the perfect image that doesn't require post production.

Fujifilm Professional's product manager, Gabriel Da Costa, commented on the Awards: “The Fujifilm Student Awards are a major part of the curriculum for many colleges, and tutors right across Britain see the Awards as pivotal to their students' education which is why we have made the decision to broaden the spectrum of entrant this year. The Fujifilm Student Awards provide a great opportunity to see the level of talent that many young photographers out there possess; many of the winners from previous years have gone on to enjoy successful careers as professional photographers.”
