Bigger and better printing
Metro Imaging have invested in all the best kit with one of ten Océ ightjet 500XLs in the world plus Epson 11880 and Epson 9900's for supersize photographic prints
Ordering large format prints
Metroprint offers unique services to photographers such as large format printing on our fantastic supersize
Lightjet 500XL
printer. Large printing presents some unique considerations also, in terms of file sizes, uploading and ordering.
File size: Ordinarily we advise photographers to save their file at full resolution for the printer but for the maximum sized print on the Lightjet this would result in a whopping 991MB file size! So for large format prints over 60” x 60” we recommend that you save your file at 100DPI to alleviate this problem.
Uploading:
Depending on the speed and reliability of your broadband provider you may experience difficulties uploading for large format printing, even at the lower resolution of 100DPI. If this is the case, you can put your file onto a DVD or CD and post it to us. We will be happy to call you once we receive the file and place the order on the Metroprint system for you.
Ordering:
As a precaution for large format printing orders (prints over 60” x 60”) we will, as a matter of course, open your file and review your settings to ensure everything is correct before going to print. This is just a little extra help to make sure that large prints are right every time.
If you have any other problems with ordering large prints, please do
let us know.
